  • How quickly can I get started with Crew Active?

    You can start immediately. After registration, you can create your first employees and plan assignments within minutes. No installation required. Crew Active runs completely in the cloud and on your mobile devices.

  • Is Crew Active GDPR compliant?

    Crew Active is developed in Germany. Your customer, employee and time data sits in an EU data centre, transmission is encrypted, and you get a data processing agreement (DPA) on request, at no extra cost. A few add-on features use external providers, some outside the EU: map views via Google, push notifications via Expo, email via Brevo and, where enabled for your account, the AI assistant via Anthropic (Claude, USA), with OpenRouter and Together AI (the open DeepSeek model, run in the USA) as a backup. Whether your use of the software is GDPR compliant is ultimately your call as the controller. We supply the technology and the contracts for it.

  • Does the app work offline?

    Yes, the Crew Active mobile app works without an internet connection. Your employees can clock in and out even when working on job sites without reception. Data is automatically synchronized as soon as a connection is available again. No GPS location is recorded while offline.

  • Can I try Crew Active for free?

  • How do I create a shift schedule with Crew Active?

  • Is time tracking mandatory for employers in Germany?

    Yes. Since the German Federal Labour Court ruling of September 2022, all employers in Germany must systematically record working hours, regardless of company size or industry. In industries such as construction and building cleaning, missing records under the Minimum Wage Act can lead to fines of up to €50,000.
